# About Serql

Serql is a faster, smarter interface for Google Search Console, built by someone who uses Search Console every day.

## Why Serql exists

Google Search Console holds the data SEO teams need to make decisions, but its interface was built for a different era. The 1,000-row limit forces analysts into spreadsheets, classifying branded vs. non-branded traffic means regex, and sharing insights with stakeholders means PDFs and screenshots. Serql pulls up to 25,000 rows per request, offers 1-click classifications, surfaces cannibalization and growth opportunities, overlays Google core updates on every chart, and lets teams share live reports with a link that needs no login.

## The founder

**Angel Nieves** (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ajnieves/) built Serql. He is an SEO practitioner with years of hands-on experience in technical SEO, content optimization, and search strategy at enterprise scale, and has the technical depth to ship the product himself.

## Open core

The application is open source under the AGPL-3.0-only license at https://github.com/snowopsdev/serql. The hosted service at https://www.serql.io/ adds a commercially licensed enterprise layer (billing, marketing pages, telemetry) that lives in `src/ee/` of the same repository. Contributions and issues are welcome at https://github.com/snowopsdev/serql/issues.

## Principles

- **Read-only by design.** Serql only ever reads Search Console data; it cannot change a property's settings.
- **Your data stays yours.** Search Console performance data is fetched from Google on demand, cached for up to 6 hours, and never stored in the app's database. Account deletion cascades through everything the account created.
- **Built for teams.** Property-level roles, shared classifications, and white-label share links.
